Journey to the Komi Republic

Journey to the Komi Republic
The Republic of Komi lies in the northeast of European Russia. I got to visit it this summer (August 2021) as a participant of a special blog tour.  The place really surpriced me with its' natural beauty, nice and kind people. Komi people have their own traditions, language and cultural aspects. It was really interesting to see and learn about it. Here I want to show you photos from this trip.
Beautiful herbal plant - Ivan Chai. It's an herb that is popular in Russia. People use it to make herbal tea.
Yb village is one of the oldest settlements in the Komi Republic.
Pechora river.  It is the sixth longest river in Europe. We got to have a river boat trip there.
Sherlyaga - abandoned village. We visited this place while the boat trip. Nowadays, there are only a few people living in this village. The place has very interesting vibe, very cinematic.
Area around Trouysky-Pechorsk town. Forests and canyons.
The virgin forests - view from the helicopter.  The Virgin Komi Forests is the largest virgin forest  in Europe.
Countryside life. People of the Komi Republic. This trip we got to visit several countryside areas. And to be honest, I really enjoy seeing and capturing the life there. People appeared to be very nice and kind. Several of them invited us to their houses, gave tea and food.
Kerchomya village. The view from above. Another village that we visited. Everything was very old style, very traditional. Houses were mostly wooden, like in the old times in Russia.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures!
